Kawai Acoustics
I get quite a few emails from people all over the world who have a Kawai acoustic, or an acoustic that they believe to be a Kawai guitar, wanting more information about them.
I know nothing!
I started this site to make available a little information about the Kawai (electric) guitars from the late 1970s. I did that because I could find no info on these guitars anywhere else on the www. As I'd been trying to research my own Kawai gutiars, I'd accumulated some knowledge, articles and other documents, so I thought there might be other people out there who would also find that information interesting.
I've accumulated the content for this site over many, many years.
I really don't have the time, nor the interest, to expand the site to cover the Kawai acoustic range - nor the electrics from the 1960s (the "strange" shaped bodies with lots of switches!) - and as I currently know nothing about them, I'm unlikely to ever change that situation!
So, with my apologies, please don't write in the hope that I'll be able to tell you want materials your old Kawai acoustic is made from, when it was made, where it was made, how many were sold (though I'd guess the answer to that last question is "not a lot") or how much it's worth. I won't be able to help you!
However, if you want to drop me an email with a pic or two, then I may well start up an acoustic owner's gallery if there's enough interest, and perhaps you can all contribute little pieces of information that could expand this site.
